Scholarship Overview
- Is a $500 million, 10-year initiative to educate and prepare young people – particularly from Africa – to lead change and make a positive social impact in their communities.
- The Scholars Program provides young people from economically disadvantaged communities who have demonstrated academic talent and leadership potential with access to quality and relevant education.
- The Program will serve an estimated 15,000 young people at the secondary and university levels. It has a particular focus on Africa, which is the world’s youngest continent and is experiencing unprecedented growth. Yet, it faces the lowest secondary and university education enrollment rates.

What does the scholarship cover?
- Full financial aid – this covers all expenses and more
- scholarship recipients commit to spending the summer between their junior and senior years working at an internship somewhere in Africa
- Regardless of citizenship, applicants are reviewed in the context and country where they attend high school. In addition, Stanford is committed to meeting demonstrated financial need for all admitted students (regardless of citizenship) who have requested financial aid during the application process.

- 5 Scholarships per Year – offered annually.

I studied bachelor degree of LAW(LLB) at JIMMA UNIVERSITY.i have many experience i.e 11 years as a judge and Now I am working at Haramaya University college of law as free legal service program coordinator. I am searching free scholarship in your University. Have you free scholarship for Ethiopian? If you have, I kindly ask you to assign me on any legal fields but preffered human right fields which are related my field b/c i was working on free legal service in Ethiopia by organizing around 54 lawers specifically in eastern part of Ethiopia with coollaburation of Haramaya university college of law,USAID,and government justice sectors(court,justice beuro,administration,prisonadministration,police,childeren & womens affairs, socialaffairs,and community at large to safeguard basic human rights for the poor & volnurable group of the community so to continue & expand this service to the area of not covered I want to upgrade my education and look forward to further interaction with our local & international partners in my future concerted effort to realize the objective of making access to justice a reality for Ethiopians.
