• The Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) administers various scholarship programs annually at the undergraduate, graduate, and PhD levels to students from about 190 countries.
• The ICCR Scholarship Program targets international students with the aim of promoting cultural and academic exchanges with the world.

What does the scholarship cover?

• Stipend (covers a living allowance, house rent/hostel fee allowance, annual contingency allowance, and thesis charges)
• Tuition fee (paid directly to the University or Institution)

NOTE:

• Students are advised to carry at least US$700 to cover immediate expenses that may be incurred during the period between the first arrival and receiving the first stipend.
• The ICCR Scholarship only applies to the individual applicant awarded for the duration of the enrolled course in India.

Am I Eligible to Apply?

To qualify for this scholarship, you must:

• Be aged between 18 and 30 years old for undergraduate and graduate programs.
• Be aged not more than 45 years for PhD programs
• Have a good command of the English language, enough to speak fluently and comprehend lessons in English.
• Make subject choices based on the subjects you studied at Higher Secondary level.
• Have a GMAT score if applying for an MBA.
• Have studied Biology, Physics, and Chemistry in Higher Secondary if you intend to study biology-based science subjects.
• Have studied Maths, Physics, and Chemistry in Higher Secondary if you intend to study Engineering or Science courses.

How do I Apply – Next Steps

• Applications must be submitted online through the A2A ICCR Scholarship Portal. Local (India) or physical (Indian missions abroad) applications will not be accepted. Hard copy applications are also not accepted.
• You must complete your application fully to avoid rejection by the A2A Portal.

NOTE:

• You must upload certified copies of all translated documents. This applies to documents not originally in English.
• Applicants for performing arts courses must submit their latest video, audio, or YouTube link of a performance.
• Applications for Doctoral programs must submit a synopsis with their applications.
• Each applicant must submit a 500-word essay in English on a topic or subject mentioned on the A2A Portal.
• Applications must also attach a passport-size photograph with a white background, showing both ears to their applications.

Required Documents

• Original documents relating to the applicant’s qualification for verification by the respective university/institute.
• Certified translations in English of all documents that are not originally in English.
• A certified copy of the syllabus of the last qualifying examination.
• A valid passport with the appropriate visa.
• An award of scholarship letter.
• An undertaking from the student that the course and University are acceptable and that he/she will not request a change at the time of admission.
• An undertaking from the student indicating that they have read the terms and conditions of the ICCR Scholarship as specified in the scholarship manual.

Closing Date

• The scholarship application portal opens in April 2023.
• Scholarship deadlines may vary depending on the scholarship scheme selected by the applicant.
