Scholarship Overview
- The MasterCard Foundation Scholars Program at KNUST provides qualified and academically talented yet economically disadvantaged young people in Ghana and Africa with access to quality and relevant university education.
- This scholarship program embodies an array of mentoring and cultural transition services to ensure student academic success, community engagement, and transition to employment opportunities which will further social and economic change in Africa.

What does the scholarship cover?
- Comprehensive financial support (full tuition, fully paid accommodation, learning materials, uniforms, transportation, and stipend

Am I Eligible to Apply?
Below are the criteria for admission into this program.
- Applicants must have applied to KNUST for undergraduate admission, should have met the admission requirements, and been successfully admitted to the institution.
- The applicant should be able to demonstrate that he or she has critical economic needs.
- Applicants should have WASSCE, GBCE, ABCE, or GCE ‘O’ Level and ‘A’ Level or equivalent results from an accredited institution, with certificates that satisfy KNUST’s admission requirements. These results should not be more than 5 years old.
- Students who are awaiting results will not be accepted into the program.
- International students from provable economically vulnerable backgrounds e.g. females, displaced persons (refugees, internally displaced persons, etc.), and physically challenged applicants will be given top priority
- The applicant must have a good record of accomplishment in leadership and community engagement.
- The applicant must be prepared to “Go-Back Give-Back” to his or her community.
- The applicant must not be enrolled in any tertiary institution.
- For admission into KNUST, Ghanaian applicants need to purchase an E-voucher for the purpose and fill out the application for admission whenever the online portal opens. International applicants are instructed to visit the same address and select the option for international students only.

- The scholarship application form is free and has a feature of a “2022” watermark.
- Qualified applicants should apply for the scholarship as soon as they can. Do not wait until admissions are opened at KNUST.

Note for International Applicants:
- When submitting your scholarship application form to the secretariat, be sure to submit the following additional documents.
- The printout of KNUST’s online admission form
- Both ‘O’ and ‘A’ Level results or their equivalent (copies of the original certificates)
NOTE:
- All information, examination results and community visits for successful applicants will be verified before admission is approved.
- Applicants must ensure that their Skype IDs and email addresses, as well as telephone numbers, are ACTIVE at all times in case critical information concerning their application is communicated.
- There will be 3 interviews in sequence conducted by 3 independent panels and at each stage, unsuccessful candidates will be notified.
- Ghanaian applicants should prepare for unannounced on-site visits.
- Successful applicants will be written to only when their results have been verified, interviewed 3 times, and for Ghanaian applicants visited.
- There are no charges/ fees/ facilitation/ agents or intermediaries required at any stage of this process.
- Inaccurate information or fraudulent misrepresentation on the part of any applicant and any attempt to influence the process will lead to disqualification and a recommendation for dismissal.
- The decisions of the Terminal Selection Committee are final.
- Applicants shall not contact the Secretariat under any circumstances on the status of their application. The Secretariat will inform and contact applicants when necessary.
