American Marketing Association
The purpose of the American Marketing Association (AMA) Scholarship is to provide financial assistance to students at the University of Alaska Anchorage College of Business and Public Policy majoring in marketing. Award amount is $1,000 per academic year. Qualifications: Applicant should demonstrate motivation, academic and leadership potential; must be in good academic standing with a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0; must be formally admitted into a marketing degree-seeking program within the College of Business & Public Policy at the University of Alaska Anchorage; must plan on enrolling at least part-time (six credits) at the University of Alaska Anchorage; may be an incoming or continuing student at the University of Alaska Anchorage; and may be a U.S. citizen, non-U.S. citizen, Alaska resident, or out-of-state resident. Recipient(s) of this scholarship will be required to write a short report to the Alaska Chapter of the AMA describing how the scholarship money was used. The report is due by the end of the academic year and no later than May 15.
American Woman’s Society of Certified Public Accountants
Applications must be postmarked by the last Friday of April of the current year. Must be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate accounting degree program; must have completed at least one semester of Intermediate Accounting by June 30, of the year of applying for scholarship; must have maintained at least a cumulative B average; must attend college or be maintaining a permanent residence within commuting distance of New York City; and agree to continue an accounting program through the current year Spring semester.
Association of School Business Officials
ASBO International has created scholarship opportunities to help all school business officials participate in professional development. ASBO and MetLife award scholarships to new school business officials to afford them the opportunity to take advantage of professional development opportunities and tap into myriad school business management resources.
Daniel B. Goldberg Scholarship
One of the scholarships administered by Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA), Daniel B. Goldberg Scholarship of $10,000 is available for award to a graduate student who is enrolled in full-time master’s study preparing for a career in state and local government finance. This scholarship is funded by the Girard Miller Foundation.
Eligibility: Currently a full-time student in a graduate program that prepares students for careers in state and local government finance; baccalaureate degree or its equivalent; citizen or permanent resident of the United States or Canada; recommendation from student’s academic advisor or dean of the graduate program; and student has not been a past winner of a scholarship program administered by the GFOA.
Frank L. Greathouse Government Accounting Scholarship
Frank L. Greathouse Government Accounting Scholarship of $5,000 is available for award to one or more undergraduate or graduate students enrolled in full-time study preparing for a career in state and local government finance. Eligibility: Currently a full-time student in a graduate program that prepares students for careers in state and local government finance; Undergraduate students must be in the process of completing at least their junior year by the time the scholarship is awarded; citizen or permanent resident of the United States or Canada; recommendation from student’s academic advisor or dean of the graduate program; and student has not been a past winner of a scholarship program administered by the GFOA.
Government Finance Professional Development Scholarship
The Government Finance Professional Development Scholarship of $5,000 is available for award in 2011 to one or more employees of a state or local government enrolled in part-time graduate study preparing for a career in state and local government finance. Eligibility: employed at least two years by one or more state or local governments; recommendation by academic advisor or dean of the graduate program or from employer; currently a part-time student in a graduate program in public; administration, governmental accounting, finance, economics, or business administration preparing for a career in state and local government finance; student must expect to be enrolled in the Spring semester; baccalaureate degree or its equivalent; student has not been a past winner of a scholarship program administered by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada; and citizen or permanent resident of the United States or Canada.
Minorities in Government Finance Scholarship
The Minorities in Government Finance Scholarship of $5,000 is available for award in 2011 to an upper-division undergraduate or graduate student of public administration, (governmental) accounting, finance, political science, economics, or business administration (with a specific focus on government or nonprofit management). This scholarship is funded by Siemens. Eligibility: Currently a full- or part-time upper-division undergraduate or graduate student in public administration, governmental accounting, finance, political science, economics, or business administration (with a specific focus on government or nonprofit management); Belong to one of the following groups (as defined by the U.S. Census Bureau): Black or African American, American Indian or Alaska Native, Asian, Native Hawaiian or Other Pacific Islander, Hispanic or Latino; Citizen or permanent resident of the United States or Canada; recommendation by student’s academic advisor, department chair (undergraduate students), or dean of the graduate program (graduate students); student has not been a past winner of a scholarship program administered by the GFOA.
NASE Future Entrepreneur Scholarship
National Association for the Self Employed (NASE) awards up to $24,000.
This prestigious award is the largest scholarship of its kind in the U.S. and the only program that promotes the entrepreneurial philosophy. This unique opportunity is awarded each spring to one ambitious individual who demonstrates the characteristics of a future micro-business owner. This entrepreneurial award is granted in the form of a $12,000 scholarship for the first year and $4,000 for additional scholarships in the next three years as eligible.
National Business Association
Applicants for this scholarship must be: a high school senior, college freshman, sophomore or junior; must be an NBA dues paying member or the dependent son or daughter of an NBA dues paying member; and the parent/member must be a member at the time awards are announced. Up to 5 scholarships will be awarded annually and are not renewable. Students may reapply each year as long as they continue to meet the eligibility criteria. The award amount is $1,500. The scholarships will be applied to tuition, fees, books, supplies and equipment required for course load.
National Society of Accountants
The NSA Scholarship Foundation awards an average of 35 scholarships per year in the amount of $1,000 each for accounting students entering their third or fourth year of studies, and $500 each for students entering their second year of studies.
These include scholarships provided by our Affiliated State Organizations (ASOs), corporate and individual donors, and other 501(c)3 organizations.
Rainbow Business and Professional Association
The Rainbow Business & Professional Association Scholarship Fund, Inc. was established in 1997. It was originally funded by a donation from Carolyn Jalbert in memory of her partner, Donna Tennant, one of the founding members of RBPA. Today we fund the annual scholarships from generous donations made by RBPA members, sponsorships, contributors in the community throughout the year, and through our annual RBPA Auction each December. The RBPA Scholarship Fund takes applications each year from January through March. Recipients are selected by the Scholarship Committee which reviews the essay applications and selects two recipients.
